Artist Statement

I am drawn to my subject matter on a spiritual level. My themes are based on subtle nuances that allow for multitudes of interpretation. My artwork represents both my love of color and art history. I am inspired by Matisse, Cezanne, Picasso, Monet, Tiffany and Hockney.
For me, the creative process is what drives me; I practice what I like to call “Serendipitous Creativity”. I am not always quite sure how a piece will turn out, but I allow that “AH HA” moment to guide me and take for a “creative ride”- landing in an unexpected but wonderful (aka serendipitous) place. For this reason, I would describe the pieces I create as unexpected and whimsical.
